Research Interest

My main research interest are in the domain of
  • Quality Mangement,
  • Information Retrieval,
  • Data Mining and
  • Visualisation.
Currently I am working on the name resolution problem (personal name matching, name disambiguation) which is a very specific data quality problem. In order to evaluate newly designed algorithms I created three different test collections on the basis of the DBLP data. This test data for name matching can be downloaded for free by clicking on the following links. A publication giving an overview on the test collections is published in "International Journal of Metadata, Semantics and Ontologies" or can be found here.
A good Repository of Information on Duplicate Detection, Record Linkage, and Identity Uncertainty is provided by Misha Bilenko.
